If you've always wanted to create your own car, but believes it is not possible, then think again. Thousands of people around the world have done and now drive cars that are different from life in vehicles sold from the factory leading manufacturers. Even before the war, people have taken the production cars and used as donors of their own creation.
Both vehicles donors, if I remember was the Austin 7 and the popular Ford. Often, they were very basic constructions, with the chassis, engine and gearbox, suspension and rear axle of the donor, it takes a lot of light, aluminum body in general. Many clubs have been trained to race and rally these cars. One of them is 750 Motor Club still ongoing today.
In the early days it was much easier because there were fewer restrictions on what the technical legal requirements of the checkpoint. My own experience is the United Kingdom, where he is now a requirement to have a vehicle that is not a production model of large-scale use what we call a VAS (vehicle approval) test. Fortunately this is not the same as the reception that major manufacturers need before they can sell their vehicles. No evidence of impact is necessary!
